Fostering is a fantastic way to make a difference in the life of a homeless animal. Over 95% of the animals that we rescue live in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted, making foster homes the lifeblood of our rescue and our most important resource! Prospective fosters should start by filling out our Foster Application. We hold mandatory foster training sessions 1-2 times per month, where foster homes learn all of our medical protocols and adoption policies and procedures. For people interested in bottle feeding kittens, we do hold training sessions periodically throughout the spring and early summer, or individual instruction can be arranged. If you have already rescued a cat or cats and are looking to place them but don't plan on being any further involved, then you might want to consider our Community Foster Program instead of becoming a full-fledged foster parent. Since 1997, Kitten Rescue foster parents have rescued and placed well over 12,000 cats and kittens. Fostering can be challenging, but it is fun and immeasurably rewarding. If you love cats, and have the time and space to provide for an animal in need, we'd love for you to join us and help us in our quest to reduce animal homelessness. |
