Sponsor a Cat

KITTEN RESCUE’S SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

The goal of Kitten Rescue’s Sponsorship Program is to raise money for Kitten Rescue by connecting cats housed in Kitten Rescue’s sanctuary with cat lovers like you. The Kitten Rescue sanctuary is home to approximately 150 cats at any given time. Many of these cats require special medical attention, are not socialized, or are unlikely to be adopted for a number of other reasons. These cats live out their lives at the sanctuary, if necessary, and Kitten Rescue is dedicated to providing them necessary and loving care. In the Kitten Rescue Sponsorship Program, donors sponsor a sanctuary cat to help Kitten Rescue cover the costs of caring for these cats and the sanctuary they live in.  We have also added several special needs foster cats who have been through a terrible kitten-hood and is recovering though physical therapy and visits with specialists.  Your sponsorship will go towards their medical fees as well.

Please select one or more cats to sponsor for one year,  or request that a Kitten Rescue volunteer assign you a cat for sponsorship. Payment can be made through monthly installments of $15, or a one-time donation of $180.  We have several inseparable pair that can be sponsored together for $30 per month for a year, or for a one-time donation of $360.

Once your sponsorship is processed, Kitten Rescue will mail you a Certificate of Sponsorship with a picture and short biography of the sponsored cat. You will also be provided bi-annual updates on your sponsored cats, and opportunities to visit their cats at Kitten Rescue’s sanctuary.  Appointments to visit a sponsored cat may be scheduled by contacting Pam at (323) 664-7115.  You can stay up to date with the progress of special needs kitties through their facebook page.

Someone bounded and gagged me with duct tape and left me in a box in a parking lot of an animal shelter. The duct tape covered my mouth and nose, so I almost suffocated to death. But the shelter workers found me in time after what seemed like eternity. I was so scared and confused and didn't know who to trust. I am now rehabilitating in a quiet home of a kitten rescue foster.  I am making progress everyday, but I am still not sure if I can trust anyone other than my foster mom. Please follow my progress on my Facebook page

I am one of the very few original cats living at the sanctuary before kitten Rescue took over the facility.  I was adopted out once but I missed my friends at the sanctuary so much that I decided to come back. I am content living here and love to climb on visitor's laps.

I was rescued from a terrible hoarding situation but I put my past behind. I am FeLV positive so I live in a special section of the sanctuary with other FeLV positive cats. It's great when the staff has meetings in my room because I love to sit on someone's lap

I've been dealing with stomatitis as long as I can remember.  It's an inflammation of the mouth and it's very hard for me to eat. I am also very shy when there's a lot of people or a lot of cats around me so I prefer to stay in my room.  But I love getting one on one attention from you.

I was trapped near Echo Park and treated at Fix Nation before finding my way to Kitten Rescue.  I was very afraid of people, but ever since coming to the Sanctuary, I am starting to see that people are not so bad.  I am only 2 years old, but I have a heart condition called Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. .  I need X-rays, ultrasounds, and extensive exams every few months to keep a close eye on my heart. I am on heart medication and on a special diet for urinary crystals.

My real name is John Patrick. I traveled far - from being abandoned in a warehouse, to someone's garage, to a foster home, and eventually here at the sanctuary.  So I can't help being shy, and therefore listed on the "hard to adopt" category.  I developed a polyp in one ear and although it's been treated, my head tilts as a result.

I was returned to Kitten Rescue 7 years after I was adopted as a kitten. It was devastating to me and I hated everyone and the world around me.  I was overweight when returned, then became hypothyroid. But now, thanks to my fans and sponsors, I am a lot better with my social skills and am down to a normal healthy weight.  You can check out my FB page for all my adventures.  All I need now is that special someone who will take me home.

I was rescued from a stray cat colony. I prefer hanging out with humans than with felines.  I am very friendly and will be your best friend, but sometimes I get overstimulated and may play rough.

When I was rescued off the streets of Long Beach, I was severely malnourished and unable to walk due to extremely malformed hind legs. Today, I go to physical therapy to increase muscle in my back legs and learn to prevent injuries to my front legs. Despite my special needs, I'm a little punk full of energy and have a gift for making friends with everyone. Please follow my progress on my facebook page

My back legs work funny and I wear a diaper, but I am proof that a kind heart and a determined soul can survive pretty much anything. I was severely injured when I was just a few weeks old For weeks, I could only drag myself around the gravel and there was nothing to eat but dirt. Back then my back legs didn’t work at all, but with the physical therapy i am receiving, I am slowly regaining functionality. I am a happy, cuddly boy, and I love to play and get petted! You can follow my progress at on my Facebook page

My previous owners moved away and left me out in the cold to fend for myself. I was meowing for days trying to get back inside my house until the neighbors brought me to Kitten Rescue.  Once at the sanctuary, I was surrounded by so many cats I was really scared. The staff and volunteers helped me adjust quickly. I've had health issues and even hospitalize a few  times. They say I have a low red blood cell count and have to be on expensive medicine twice a week. Ouch, those injections are not fun!  Thanks to your sponsorship to help pay for my medicine, I can stay healthy and enjoy the sun on my special chair

I was rescued by a volunteer when the neighborhood kids were abusing me.  It was traumatic and even though I know you want to be nice to me, I can't help shy away. I am getting better but I need a very special person to adopt me.  I love playing with my feline friends and if you visit me after hours when it's nice and quiet, I might come out and say hi.

I used to be one of the feline kids of someone famous. I was surrendered to Kitten Rescue along with my other feline siblings and friends.  I a senior kitty, but I can spread life secrets to the kids at the sanctuary.  I make the best out of every situation.  I have developed chronic liver issues and your sponsorship will help pay for my medicine which I will be on for the rest of my life.

We were adopted out as kittens but returned several years later for no fault of our own. We are the perfect gentle giants that loves to lounge with you. When we were returned, we were overweight, depressed and didn't want to do anything - not even eat. We developed fatty liver. With the care we received from the staff at the sanctuary we recovered nicely.
