Kitten Rescue's inaugural year as an Official Charity of the Honda LA Marathon was a huge success. Kitten Rescue volunteers, supporters, adopters, and cat-loving members of the public came together to form the first-ever "Team Kitten Rescue", and raise much-needed funds for homeless cats and dogs.

After months of training, Team Kitten Rescue participated in the Big 5K and the 2012 Honda LA Marathon, on March 17 and 18, respectively. Seventeen Team Kitten Rescue members completed the pre-marathon Big 5K race in the cold and wind, and thirty-three team members walked and/or ran the marathon -- twenty two as full marathoners (26.2 miles) and ten as relay-race half-marathoners (13.1 miles).
